Why We Have Rules

thespatialindex.com is an open platform designed to support the spatial and related industries. While we aim to keep the platform accessible and open, guardrails are necessary to maintain trust, fairness, and integrity for everyone.

Listings

  1. Listings must be genuine products or services.
  2. Listings must be relevant to the spatial industry or closely related industries (e.g. AEC).
  3. Listings must accurately describe the product or service and must not contain misleading claims.
  4. You may only create or manage a listing if you are the owner or an authorised representative.
  5. Impersonation of individuals or organisations is prohibited.
  6. Listings must contain meaningful descriptions. Placeholder or empty listings may be removed.
  7. Duplicate listings may be merged or deleted.
  8. You must have the right to use any logos, branding, or media included in your listing.

Reviews & Ratings

  1. You must have an ArcGIS Online account to leave a review or rating. Any AGO account is acceptable, including a free public account.
  2. You must leave a rating when submitting a review.
  3. You are not required to write a written review.
  4. You may only leave one review per listing per username.
  5. Your username is recorded for moderation purposes but will never be publicly displayed.
  6. You may not review or rate your own listing.
  7. Employees, contractors, or affiliates may not review or rate their own organisation’s listing.
  8. Reviews must reflect genuine experience with the listed product or service.
  9. Incentivised, compensated, or coordinated reviews are not permitted.
  10. Fake, abusive, defamatory, or irrelevant reviews may be edited or removed.
  11. Listing owners may request moderation review but may not demand removal solely because feedback is negative.

Likes

  1. You can leave a like without signing in.
  2. You can only leave one like per listing.
  3. Automated or scripted liking is prohibited.

Spam

  1. Spam listings will not be tolerated.
  2. Spam includes repetitive promotional content, irrelevant listings, automated submissions, SEO manipulation, or affiliate-link farming.
  3. Spam content may be removed without notice.
  4. You may be banned if you engage in spam or abuse of the platform.

Conduct

  1. Harassment, hate speech, and abusive behaviour are not permitted.
  2. Do not publish private or confidential information about others.
  3. Illegal products or services are not permitted.

Platform Governance

  1. We reserve the right to remove or modify content at our discretion.
  2. A listing does not imply endorsement by thespatialindex.com.
  3. We are not responsible for transactions or agreements made between users.
  4. These rules may be updated at any time.
